This Mahjong workshop, hosted by Xinming Guo, introduces participants to the classic game of Mahjong in an engaging and educational setting. The session covers fundamental rules, simple strategies, and hands-on practice--enhancing cognitive skills like memory and problem-solving while promoting social interaction.
Xinming Guo is an award-winning educator and the founder of the Go and Math Academy specializing in integrating traditional Asian games like Go and Mahjong into educational and community programs. He is the recipient of the American Go Foundation's National Teacher of the Year award and the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) Fred Flener Award, recognizing his exceptional contributions to engaging students beyond the traditional classroom.
