Historically, fashion influencers were among the social elite and the latest fashion designs were shown in exclusive runway shows, admired by the public from a distance. Social upheaval and changing social attitudes in the 1960s and 70s changed all that. Far from runway presentations in Paris, Milan, London, and NYC, popular fashion found a vibrant home in the discos and streets of urban centers changing the way we view and consume fashion.
Presented by Nelson Cantada, an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Fashion Studies Program at College of DuPage.
